Registration Forms allow you to ask questions at checkout to collect information from customers buying tickets to your event. You can ask questions either once per ticket or once per order, and also give you the option to only ask questions when specific ticket types are selected.
Registration Data
Data collected by a customer Registration Form will be available in the Event Dashboard report options as well as in the Event Management & Operations option on the Reports page. The data from registration forms is not stored with a customer. It is available in the event in which it was asked.
Add a Registration Form to an Event
Start by navigating to your event's edit page. Then, look for the "Show Advanced Settings" option.
In the advanced settings is the option to create a Registration Form. Click the "Create a Form" button on the Registration Forms card to open the form configuration window.
Name your registration form and specify whether the questions within the form will be asked once per order or once per ticket. Selecting to collect information "Once per ticket" is often used to collect the name of each individual attendee. Otherwise, our system already automatically collects the name and email of the one user who placed the order for tickets.
You also have an option to enable or disable this registration form in the Express Checkout sales option.
Click the "+ Add Custom Question". In the window that appears, type the question you'd like to ask your ticket buyers. Specify whether or not the question will be required using the Required toggle and then choose the type of response you'd like to collect.
Response types:
- Test: provides a text field for user to enter a text response.
- Radio Buttons: allows customers to pick one item from a list of responses.
- Checkboxes: allows customers to pick multiple items from a list of responses.
- Date: Provides a date picker for customers to select a date
If you would like this question to be added to a set of default questions that will populate each time you create a registration form for events in the future, select the checkbox at the bottom of the window.
If you would only like to ask the questions in your registration form when specific tickets are purchased, click the toggle labeled Restrict to Specific Ticket Types at the bottom of the form card. Any tickets that you have created for this event will appear by group. Select the checkbox next to the group(s) you'd like to prompt the form for.
Click the Save Form button to save your registration form. When your registration form is saved, all ticket purchases for the event going forward will include the form. If you need to turn your registration form off at any point, click the toggle on the Registration Form card.
Here is an example of how the registration form currently appears to ticket buyers. For an event titled, "WRKF Founders Luncheon with Marty Baron" asking a question about sponsor table signage.
Known Issues
The registration form will appear at checkout after tickets have been selected. Questions will be displayed in a text box and the title of the registration form will mimic the title of the event. This is known to be something that looks awkward and will be redesigned in the near future Period Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust this now, as this is simply how the system works.
