Creating tickets in our system will require creating a ticket category and then a ticket price. A ticket category is an inventory of tickets, and each category will need one or more ticket prices.
Each ticket price includes a unique setup that controls the naming of your tickets and specifies their sale timeline and availability.
- Ticket Category - Initially create a category representing a group of tickets for your event.
- Ticket Price - Within each category, establish one or more prices for the tickets, setting their cost and availability.
Create Tickets in an Event
Ticket Settings are always required when an event is created. All ticket settings can be edited after an event is created.
Step #1: Create a Ticket Category
To create a ticket you must first create the Ticket Category. Do this by selecting "Add another category" in the ticket settings section of the event edit page. Name your Ticket Category, keeping in mind that this name will NOT appear when the ticket buyer is selecting their tickets although it will be printed on their physical tickets. Here you will specify whether the tickets in this group will be General Admission or Reserved. If your tickets are General Admission, specify the number of tickets available. If there is a floor plan, the quantity for both general admission and reserved categories is determined by the number of spots assigned in the floor plan editor.
Step #2: Add Tickets to the Category
After adding a Ticket Category you will be prompted to add the first ticket price to the Category. If you need to add other prices to a category select the "+ Add Ticket" button. If there is more than one category created then you may need to use the dropdown (#1 in the image below) to select the category in which to place your new ticket.
Step #3: Set Ticket Availability Dates
By default, new tickets will go on sale as soon as the event is created and sales will end at the start of the event. You may use the two separate drop-downs for Ticket Sales Begin (#5) and Ticket Sales End (#6) to adjust these settings.

Click the 'Add ticket to defaults for the venue' check box (#7) to add this ticket category and price level to the default settings for your venue. This can save you time the next time you create an event with this venue, as any default ticket categories and price levels will automatically populate in the new event. You can Manage your Default Tickets from within the venue in the "Venues" section.
More Ticket Options
Expand the "Ticket Settings" option to see your event's tickets. The 'pencil' icon will let you edit the ticket category. You can edit any individual ticket by selecting the '3 dots' and selecting "Edit".
Add more Inventory
You can add more tickets by updating the Ticket Category. Go to the Ticket Settings area and click the 'pencil' icon next to the category name. From there, you can change the number of tickets available for your general admission ticket. For reserved seating tickets inventories are managed in the event's floor plan.
Create Hidden Tickets
By default, new tickets will be available to your customers online. The "Sell Online" toggle (#4 in the image above) will be on by default. Switching this off will hide certain tickets from your online customers and they will only be accessible for sale via the box office staff. A common application of this functionality is to create a higher-priced, offline ticket for your box office staff to use when guests show up at the door.
Ticket Descriptions
You can now add a text description to offer more details about a ticket type. You can do this by editing the ticket type and selecting "Show Advanced Settings". This will show the option to add a text description for the ticket. This will show at checkout when the user selected the "More Info" option next to the tickets that have descriptions.
Set Ticket Purchase Minimums and Maximums
You can now add a minimum and/or maximum number of tickets allowed for purchase for any specific ticket in your event. This is useful for selling exactly two tickets at a time or for limiting users so that they cannot purchase more than 10 tickets at a time, for example. This option is in the "Show Advanced Settings" section of the ticket edit option.
