What are Demo Days?
Demo Days is a sales blitz with 2-3 days reserved for in-person meetings with potential event organizers in your area. This is an exclusive opportunity for the event creator to meet with your team and take advantage of special promotional offers for ticketed events.
The prospect comes into the office for a sales demo, to learn more about the ticketing platform and your inclusive marketing plan. The goal is to have the event organizer signup for ticketing right away. Demo Days are a great way to attract new or lapsed event organizers in your local area.
How can I plan one?
First, give yourself time to prospect. We recommend 4 weeks to plan. The goal of Demo Days is to have in-person meetings with the best possible prospects of high quality, revenue rich events. This includes one-time events where the total value of tickets available X ticket price is greater than $50K and venues that have recurring events where ticketed revenue is over $50K per quarter.
Remember, Demo Days are all about connecting with new people and creating a sense of exclusivity and excitement. You won’t have unlimited spots available. Use this to your advantage and schedule appointments with the top event organizers in your local area.
What special offer should I include?
Demo Days can include an expanded offer based on your Inclusive Marketing Plan. Remember, your Inclusive Marketing Plan and your local audience is your biggest differentiator. Always put a dollar amount on the value so the event organizer clearly understands how much they are receiving in promotional dollars by partnering with your ticketing website.
Another idea is to offer a discounted package available for purchase with your other media products. This has the benefit for the event organizer to get exclusive savings and increase revenue and solutions sold for your media group.
What type of support does the Evvnt team provide for planning our own Demo Days?
The Evvnt team can be virtually available for tandem sales calls as needed. We can assist in talking about the features and the benefits of the platform, how ticketing works and answering questions. We rely on your team to review the Inclusive Marketing Plan and highlight your local audience. If you would like a member of our team to join you, please contact your Partner Success Manager or email partners@evvnt.com. Note, we can’t guarantee full availability and do need a minimum of 3 weeks notice. Another great reason to plan ahead!
All my spots are filled, now what?
That’s excellent! If you've run out of spots but still have event creators interested in a demo, the Evvnt team can provide a live webinar with Q & A the week after your Demo Days. This can be for any prospects that were either unable to attend or unable to get an appointment because the limited spots were already filled.
The webinar will review how to promote events, why they should sell tickets online and an overview of your ticketing platform. This can be used as overflow to reach a lot of prospects at one time with help from the Evvnt team. Plus, we recommend keeping the enhanced Inclusive Marketing Plan for webinar attendees and only available if the event organizer signs up for ticketing the week of the webinar. Think exclusivity and closing deals quickly!
Any additional tips?
- Aim to book 4 appointments per day
- Plan for 1 hour each with 30-45 minutes in between meetings
- Make sure you confirm the appointment 1 week and 1 day prior & know you will have some last minute cancellations
- Create an experience for them coming into the office. This could include offering snacks and coffee, providing a tour of your office and sending them off with some branded merchandise from your ticketing website or media property
If you have any questions or want to brainstorm additional ideas, our team is here to help. Please contact your Partner Success Manager or email partners@evvnt.com.
